Scott Perry,a central Florida native, began his music career in northern California after moving to San Jose, CA in 1992. He received his B.A. in music performance in 2002 from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, graduating Magna Cum Laude with concentrations in music composition, under the direction of Dr. Scott Meister, and guitar studies under the direction of Dr. Douglas James. Since 2002, Scott returned to San Jose and has finished the coursework for the degree of M.A. in music composition under the direction of Dr. Brian Belet and Dr. Pablo Furman at San Jose State University and is expected to be awarded the degree in December of 2010.

Performer:As an accomplished performer Scott has led a guitar quartet, sang jazz, classical, and rock vocals, played jazz and rock guitar, bass, and drums, Dixieland banjo, orchestral percussion, violoncello, lute, and his favorite, the classical guitar. The diversity in styles and instruments that Scott plays has given him the opportunity to perform in various situations and venues ranging from concert halls and orchestra pits to restaurants and nightclubs. From 1999-2002 Scott was awarded and maintained the Hester Memorial Performance Scholarship at Appalachian State University.
